I am an experienced cognitive-behavioral therapist (CBT), certified by the British Association for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I have specialized in treating depression, neurosis, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and behavioral addictions. As a veteran with severe PTSD, I have had several different therapists over the years. Joan has really brilliantly helped me see the unhelpful thought patterns that keep me depressed. She also helped me understand that if I don't make some changes in my life myself, nothing will change, and I was able to start making some small changes, which I hope to continue now.
