I am extremely grateful and very impressed with the service and level of support that I have continuously received from Joanna. As a veteran with severe PTSD I have had a few different therapists over the last years. None of them really cared in my opinion and I was dreading this experience as well, expecting same robotic type of a psychologist just doing their hours. To my surprise Joanna was different. Right from the very beginning, she has always displayed great compassion, understanding and insight into the issues and difficulties that I have faced. She has challenged my perceptions, fears and irrational thoughts with great professionalism and she has equipped me with all of the correct tools that will undoubtedly help me in the future. From the minute I accessed the therapy I felt listened to in a non-judgmental way and compassionate way. Noticing I have been very scared to access the service and discuss my symptoms, Joanna very quickly put me at ease which allowed me to properly engage with the therapy. I felt immediately at ease with Joanna, able to talk openly about anything and everything that troubled me.She has been a wonderful listener and adviser. I was worried that CBT involve a lot of written homework. I was relieved that this was not the case. I have been given info to read which has made sense and is helpful.If I come unstuck again and need help I would hope that Joanna is available. I was very satisfied with my visit to my therapist Joanna. She always asked me what I needed, everything was kept confidential, and I trusted that she would take me seriously no matter what I brought up. I felt very safe, accepted and cared for as I talked about my worries and concerns and how they affected me, I also received help in the short term and tools for the long term. Joanna has been really great in helping me to see unhelpful thought patterns I have that keep me in depression. She has also been instrumental in helping me to see that unless I make some changes in my life, nothing will change, and I have been able to begin to implement some small changes, which I am hopeful I will now carry on. She has been very kind and gentle with me throughout the process, and this, I feel, is why I have been able to take on board the things she was showing me. This therapy has changed my life and given me the skills to deal with my OCD and anxiety. Joanna Mania was brilliant. She was so caring and compassionate. She explained things well. I started off thinking there was no hope for my social anxiety and agoraphobia and that at the same time I was overreacting and a professional might think my problems were not worthy of therapy. Joanna Mania made sure these negative thoughts were addressed straight away and listened to my concerns without judgement. In the last couple of sessions I have felt ready to go out on my own and she has given me the confidence along with the tools that I need. I feel like me again.
